Do the materials come with certificates?

Yes, all our steel products come with at least a 3.1 certificate as standard, which is sent out by e-mail. At the customer’s request, we can also provide a hard copy of the certificate. We also offer the option of supplying the product with a 3.2 certificate.

Who is responsible for preparing the export documents, and what documents does the carrier receive when loading for export?

We do not issue export documents ourselves ; instead, this is done by the carrier. We authorize the carrier by means of direct representation. When loading for export, the carrier receives a CMR (consignment note), packing list and possibly a shipping invoice  if the shipment is being sent abroad. Certificates of Origin are handled via Beurtvaartadres.

How are the products packaged?

Our products are packaged in various ways, depending on the type of product and customer requirements. The common packing methods we use are as follows:

1. For smaller products, we use a cardboard box with protective material to protect the contents during transport.
2. Larger products are often placed on a Europallet, which can be fitted with a pallet edge for extra protection. The products are then securely fastened using steel straps and plastic film to make sure they remain safely in place during transport.
3. Pipes are carefully bundled and secured with steel bands, plastic film, caps and protective tape to prevent damage during transit.
4. At the customer’s request, we can also supply wooden crates that comply with the ISPM-15 standard for international transport. These crates offer extra protection and are suitable for exporting goods.

Regardless of the packaging method, we ensure that all packages are clearly marked with essential information, such as the Steuer Nederland order number, customer reference, dimensions, weight and the number of the package(s). This facilitates smooth and efficient logistics and helps ensure that the right products are delivered to the customer.

How do you load and unload products?

Products are loaded and unloaded using a forklift truck. Pallets are loaded and unloaded via the back or side of the truck. Long products are only loaded and unloaded via the side of the truck.

At what times is loading and unloading possible?

Goods can be loaded and unloaded at our location at the following times:

• MON - THU: 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. / 1 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
• FRI: 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. / 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.

What happens if my shipment is delayed? And what is done to monitor delivery time?

If your shipment is delayed, we will keep you informed in a timely manner. We closely monitor delivery timelines and track project progress using status reports. Our expediting department is always ready to address any logistical challenges and assist you in finding solutions. You can trust us to minimize delays and ensure a smooth delivery process.
